Hurricane Irene - Emergency Information

With Hurricane Irene impacting New England, Harrington Insurance wants our clients to know that we will be here for you. Please see below for more information on what to do in the event of a loss, as well as how you can prepare for the storm.

What is Harrington Doing?

Harrington Customer Service Representatives will be available to attend to any customers questions or claims. Our network of offices have redundant systems in place to ensure we can provide service, even if power outages occur.

Please note that national flood regulations always require a 30 day waiting period to obtain flood insurance so we are unable to add this coverage to protect you from Hurricane Irene. Please contact us to add this important coverage to protect you from future events.

What to do in the event that you have a loss and need to file a claim:

  • First, protect your family and property from any further damage or risk of injury
  • Make reasonable and neccessary repairs required to protect your property
  • Do not make any attempt to mitigate any exposures that could potentially cause further damage or injury
  • Keep an itemized record of all repair expenditures and items damaged
  • Contact your local office or company directly to file a claim

Who do I contact / How do I file a claim?

Should you have any questions or need to file a claim, there are many ways that you can contact us:

  • You can contact your company directly and report the claim. This is the fastest way to report your claim due to potential high claim volume.
  • You can also contact us directly by calling your local office. For contact information, click here. As stated, Harrington service personnel will be available for assistance and support. Due to the possiblity of high volume, if you do not reach a service representative immediately, please leave a message and we will respond momentarily.
